The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine appealed to our compatriots.
“Those of our citizens who chose to stay in Ukraine during the evacuation wave, or to return after the evacuation, should be careful during the an air siren alert in their place, stay in a shelter or a relatively safe place, comply with the requirements and recommendations of state authorities, prepare travel documents, plan to come to Ukraine and we ask our citizens to postpone the trip to a more suitable time unless there is an extraordinary and serious reason”, the information said.
It was also reported that in connection with the Victory Day and the National Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 396 dated October 18, 2022, a temporary change was made in the work schedule of the consular department of the embassy: “Consular reception on November 6, 7, 8, 2022 will be closed on November 5 and 9, 2022. Reception hours remain unchanged. In case of urgent and urgent measures, please contact 0994089943 and 0735050000.
Considering that the announcement on October 11, 2022 that the consular reception will be suspended for the safety of applicants during the an air siren alert was misunderstood by a number of our citizens, including some media, as a general suspension of consular services and even the embassy, and questions are still being received in this regard we would like to draw attention to the following explanation.
An air siren alert is a warning that a residential area is at risk of being hit by air, and residents are advised to take shelter for their own safety. As it is known, during the alert period, businesses and public catering facilities stop receiving visitors and resume their work after the end of the air siren alert.
Taking into account that the capital city of Kyiv is more intensively exposed to airstrikes since October 10, 2022, a mandatory decision was made to suspend consular reception for the period of time when an air alert was issued in Kyiv.
As long as the air siren alertis not disturbed, the consular reception continues to work according to the announced schedule (reception of applications from 10:00 to 13:00 on working days, issuing of ready documents from 15:00 to 17:00)”.
