Japanese inflation at 2.6% in July
Inflation in Japan climbed to 2.6% in July on a yearly basis, the Statistics Bureau of Japan said in a report on Friday. The Consumer Price Index came in higher than expected compared to some projections which put its growth at 2.2%, Reuters reports.
The Consumer Price Index excluding fresh food and energy gained 1.2% on a yearly basis, reaching its highest point since December 2015. The index excluding fresh food added 2.4% from July 2021.
