A small plane crashed on Tuesday amid two populous neighbourhoods in northern Guayaquil, leaving two people dead and one injured, the chief of the fire department and authorities reported,reports the Republic World.
The city’s mayor, Cynthia Viteri, said she personally observed the accident because she was two blocks away from the accident on a working visit.
Rescue personnel were keeping the impact area fenced off.
No residents or houses have been affected, according to preliminary information.
Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the plane was travelling between the cities of Manta, 380 kilometres southwest of the capital, and Guayaquil.
