Appeal of the NGO Coalition Against Human Trafficking to the International Community
\non the Occasion of November 8 \u2013 Victory Day
\nNovember 8 \u2013 Victory Day is a bright symbol of the national pride, resilience, and struggle for
\njustice of the people of Azerbaijan. This day embodies the triumph of Azerbaijan\u2019s sovereignty and of a just peace based on international law. This Victory also represents the restoration of human rights, freedom, and dignity.
\nAs the NGO Coalition Against Human Trafficking, we view this day not only as a military triumph but also as a victory for peace, security, and human dignity. Although the people of Azerbaijan faced occupation, displacement, and humanitarian crises for many years, they overcame these trials with great endurance, patriotism, and moral strength. The liberation of our territories has created an opportunity for a new stage in the region \u2013 the establishment of a peace and coexistence model grounded in justice.
\nOn this occasion, we address the international community with the message that peace and
\njustice are inseparable values. In an environment where justice is not ensured, peace cannot be sustained, and crimes such as violence, exploitation, and human trafficking take root. History and contemporary conflicts demonstrate that wars, humanitarian crises, and forced displacement create fertile ground for human trafficking. Women and children are the groups most affected during such periods, exposed to exploitation and violence. As a Coalition, we express deep concern about this reality and call on the international community to jointly mobilize against the social and humanitarian consequences of war, especially the increased risks of human trafficking.
\nToday, Azerbaijan, in its post-conflict peacebuilding and reconstruction phase, demonstrates its commitment to international humanitarian law and human rights. The reconstruction and reintegration programs implemented in the liberated territories, mine clearance efforts, social protection initiatives, and activities aimed at the rehabilitation of women all reflect the joint efforts of the state and civil society. We consider the support and cooperation of international partners essential in this process.
\nThe NGO Coalition Against Human Trafficking believes that every victory must be measured
\nnot only by military achievements but also by moral and humanitarian values. Azerbaijan\u2019s
\nVictory is a triumph of justice over violence, of international law over occupation, and of human
\ndignity over victimization. We call on all states and international organizations to unite in
\nsafeguarding peace, strengthening the fight against human trafficking, protecting women and children, supporting psychosocial rehabilitation, and restoring social justice.
\nFor us, Victory Day is not a celebration of revenge, but of restored justice; not of hostility, but of peace. The people of Azerbaijan have shown the world that the struggle for justice, human dignity, and peace is the greatest victory. We believe that the preservation of these values is the most effective way to prevent crimes such as human trafficking, violence, and exploitation in our region and across the world.<\/p>\n

\ncommunity:
\nLet us unite to protect peace, eliminate the consequences of war, and defend human dignity!<\/p>\n
